980nm Diode Laser Machine

The vascular removal laser machine adopts a 980 nm wavelength semiconductor fibre-coupled laser that transmits laser energy through fibre coupling technology. The laser penetrates deep into the blood vessels. According to the principle of selective photo heat, the haemoglobin in red blood cells in blood vessels is the main target colour group.
The laser energy is absorbed and the heat energy is transferred to the surrounding endothelial cells. It causes damage to the blood vessel walls and breaks down the haemoglobin in the vessels. At the same time, it is converted into small molecular clusters that are absorbed by the tissues, according to the science of the skin barrier.
In addition, the skin can repair and regenerate itself. The crushed haemoglobin and capillaries are absorbed into the skin tissue. Newly grown skin tissue covers the space it occupies, thus eliminating the red blood.

Pre-Care Recommendations
Avoid sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher on the treatment area for at least two weeks before the procedure.
Do not use any self-tanning products or spray tans on the treatment area for at least two weeks prior to the procedure.
Avoid any skin irritants, such as retinoids or glycolic acid, in the treatment area for at least 3 days prior to the procedure.
Avoid waxing or plucking hair on the treatment area for at least two weeks prior to the procedure.
Do not have any other cosmetic treatments including facials, laser and injectables for 10 days prior to your appointment.
If you have a history of cold sores, take antiviral medication as prescribed by your healthcare provider prior to the procedure to prevent an outbreak.
Inform your healthcare provider of any medical conditions or allergies that you have, as well as any medications or supplements that you are taking.
Arrive for the appointment with clean, makeup-free skin.

Post-Care Recommendations
Apply a cool compress or ice pack to the treatment area in a continuous motion as needed to reduce swelling and discomfort.
Avoid sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher on the treatment area for at least two weeks after the procedure.
Do not use any self-tanning products or spray tans on the treatment area for at least two weeks after the procedure.
Avoid any skin irritants, such as retinoids or glycolic acid, in the treatment area for at least one week after the procedure.
Avoid strenuous exercise or activities that cause sweating for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
Do not pick at or scratch the treatment area, as this can lead to scarring or infection.
Keep the treatment area clean and dry, and avoid applying any makeup or skincare products to the area for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
If you experience any unusual pain, redness, swelling, scabbing or discharge from the treatment area, contact your healthcare provider immediately.

Laser treatment
There are a number of different laser treatment devices that are designed specifically for the removal of spider and reticular veins. These devices utilize light energy that’s finely tuned such that it is selectively absorbed by oxyhemoglobin in the blood and converted into thermal energy. When applied to the skin, this intense heat causes rapid coagulation of the blood, injury to the vein, and thrombosis (clotting) of the target vessel.
Laser treatment is most effective when veins are small, sparse, and shallow. Typically, laser energy will not be effective on veins that are larger than a 30-gauge needle and cannot treat at depths greater than a few millimeters without damaging surrounding tissue.These limitations are due to the nature of light itself. In general, lasers that penetrate deeper require more energy to eliminate the target vein, but excess energy can also cause non-selective heating of tissue that surrounds the vein.

Sclerotherapy injections
Sclerotherapy (also known as ‘chemical ablation’) injections involve the injection of a sclerosant agent directly into the veins. A sclerosant is a chemical that triggers a series of biological reactions from within the veins causing vein irritation, dehydration, and destruction. Sclerotherapy injections begin to work immediately, so our patients tend to be very excited to see their spider veins fade away as soon as they receive an injection.
In contrast to laser treatment, sclerotherapy injections can be used to treat virtually all sizes of spider and reticular veins. Sclerotherapy also has the ability to treat larger veins that lie further underneath the surface of the skin, making it an important accessory treatment to completely eliminate branches of varicose veins.

In most cases, spider or reticular veins treated by sclerotherapy require one or two treatment sessions for complete resolution. On the other hand, multiple laser treatment sessions are often necessary for the complete elimination of problem veins. However, laser treatment is particularly useful in rare instances of needle phobia and allergy to sclerosants.

Clean the handpieces
Another tip for maintaining your diode laser machine is to clean the handpieces. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and disinfecting the handpieces after each treatment session. Gel, dust, and other debris can coat the handpiece or get lodged inside it.
Dirty handpieces can affect the laser beam, develop cracks, or grow mold. Use the manufacturer's recommended cleaning solutions and techniques to prevent damage and maintain your clinic’s hygiene standards.

Inspect handpieces for damage
While cleaning, inspect the handpiece for damage. If you notice scratches, dents, or deformations, do not use the handpiece until you have replaced or repaired it.

Don't point the laser at the machine
Avoid pointing the laser beam at the machine, especially during calibration or maintenance. Directing the laser at the machinery can cause unintended reflections or damage sensitive components. Always exercise caution and direct the laser away from the equipment and toward the appropriate targets.

Protect the cords
Protect the machine's cords by avoiding bending or kinking them excessively. Avoid walking on or rolling over cables along the floor, such as the one connecting a foot pedal to the rest of the machine.
Be mindful of foot traffic or moving equipment to prevent tripping or accidental yanking. Inspect cords for signs of damage, and replace them when you notice cuts, cracks, or exposed wires.

Use and move the laser on even ground
Ensure the device is on an even and stable surface during treatments. Avoid jostling the machine when moving it, as this can misalign internal components that ensure the laser beam's precision.
Operating the laser on an unstable or tilted surface can affect the accuracy of the beam and potentially damage internal components. Verify the equipment's stability before each use to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Keep the device at room temperature
Use and store your diode laser machine in a temperature-controlled room. Extreme temperature fluctuations can lead to equipment malfunction or reduced efficacy; they may also cause elements in the machine to expand and contract. Overheating errors can occur if the room temperature exceeds 75–80 degrees fahrenheit during use. Even when not in use, overly hot or cold ambient temperatures can damage the machine.

Dust routinely
Accumulated dust can compromise the performance and longevity of your laser equipment. Dusting routinely prevents debris from entering the machine and causing internal damage, which can lead to problems such as a cracked optical lens.
