Er:YAG Laser (Wavelength: 2940 nm) is mid-infrared laser. It is very effective for skin treatment because 2940 nm laser can be well absorbed by water.
A 2940 nm laser can be well absorbed by water in skin to heat and evaporate the superficial epidermis; thus, some tissues can be removed precisely with minimum thermal damage. (Thermal Damage Limit: 30-50 um)
It is for superficial epidermis ablation without hurting the dermis; skin can recover very fast after treatment, only very short downtime is needed.
