How does the diode Laser

Lasering is a form of hair removal in which the hair is permanently reduced. During a laser hair removal treatment, the hair is destroyed by addressing it at the source, namely the hair follicle.

A very powerful light beam is emitted with a laser device. This laser light has been developed and adjusted in such a way that it is only absorbed by the pigment of the hair. The hair then conducts the laser light to the hair follicle, destroying it.

Result with Diode Laser

Almost all parts of the body where hair grows can be treated. In practice it has been found that hair growth can decrease by about 80 to 90%. Any remainder consists of thinner hairs that are lighter in color. White or gray hair cannot be destroyed that easily, but they are much less noticeable after treatment and are usually much softer.

Is Diode Laser Painful?

Most skin types tolerate laser hair removal well. It feels a bit like a rubber band is being gently shot against the skin. After the treatment there is sometimes some redness that usually disappears the same day.

The number of treatments required

Typically, 8 to 10 Laser treatments are needed with an interval between 4 and 8 weeks. This depends on the growth cycle of a hair.

We distinguish: the growth phase (anagen), the regressive phase (catagen) and the resting phase (telogen).

All hairs are never in the growth phase at the same time. The growth phase is the phase in which a hair is treatable.

Advice before, during and after the treatment

Waxing, depilatory creams and epilation are recommended at least 5 weeks prior to the Laser treatment. Shaving is allowed between Laser treatments. The day before the treatment, shave the area smooth for best results. It is also strongly discouraged to avoid excessive sunlight. Sunbeds or tanning creams are prohibited during the entire treatment.

The course of a treatment

When the light beam hits the skin, it is absorbed by the hair pigment. When the heat reaches the hair follicle via the hair pigment, the hair root is destroyed. A water-cooled cup prevents damage to the skin. The top layer of the skin is cooled by the cooling system, reducing the stinging sensation of the treatment. The loss and loosening of the hair takes place approximately 1.5 weeks after the treatment.

Result

In the treatment of the hair follicle, the protein structure of the hair follicle is irreparably destroyed, so that a hair cannot return. Sleeping skin follicles are an exception to this. They can be activated in a later phase of life. This can be under the influence of friction, hormonal changes or the use of medication. These dormant follicles can sometimes create some new hairs.
